The van operates to accommodate the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. work force. If these hours don’t work for
you – try carpooling!

Can I wait at the Park and Ride site and catch a ride on the vanpool?
A.
No, all riders need to be registered with MRTMA. The ridership on the vans can vary from day to
day, we want to make sure everyone has a seat. The other benefit to registering with MRTMA is
be eligible for the Guaranteed Ride Home program.

How do carpools work?

Plenty of people are willing to share your ride and the costs. Put extra money in your pocket by adding these riders to your commute.
Carpooling is convenient, cost effective, and easy. You make the carpool suit your needs – whether it’s comfort, reduced travel times, or money savings. Structure the carpool based on your personal needs.

MRTMA’s carpooling service is available to individuals who commute along the Highway 93 corridor from Hamilton or Polson.
Q. What is a Vanpool?
A.
A vanpool is a prearranged group of eight to fifteen people who share their commute to and from work or school. The group enjoys low fares and a comfortable commute in a 15-passenger vanpool vehicle. Each vanpool vehicle is equipped with individual reclining seats, lighting and heating/cooling units.

What are the eligibility requirements for using the Community Needs Van Service?

An individual must be a senior or adult with disability. New customers will need to complete an
in-take form with our Transportation Coordinator when first requesting service.

Can I schedule a ride from the Bitterroot Valley?
A.
That area is served by Ravalli County Transit. They can be reached at 363-7484. Due to funding
restrictions, they can only provide transportation to seniors and adults with disabilities.
